Absolutely! We source our Hapus mangoes directly from select, verified farms in the Devgad region of Konkan, Maharashtra, renowned for producing the finest quality Alphonso mangoes. We ensure authenticity and quality right from the source.
What is the difference between A1, A2, and A3 grades?
The grades refer to the size and weight of the individual mangoes:
A1 Grade: Premium, large size (Approx. 290g - 350g per mango)
A2 Grade: Medium to large size (Approx. 220g - 280g per mango)
A3 Grade: Regular size (Approx. 210g - 220g per mango)
Regardless of the grade, we ensure the same authentic taste and quality.
Why are the mangoes sent semi-ripe or green?
We ship Hapus mangoes in a semi-ripe state to prevent damage during transit and ensure they ripen perfectly in your home. This allows you to enjoy them at their peak freshness and flavour. Shipping fully ripe mangoes increases the risk of spoilage and damage.
Receiving & Ripening
How do I ripen the mangoes once they arrive?
Please follow the ripening instructions provided in the product description and often included with your box. Generally:
- Unpack the mangoes.
- Place them on the hay provided or on a paper/cloth surface at room temperature (do not refrigerate unripe mangoes).
- Allow them to ripen naturally over 3-8 days, checking daily.
- They are ripe when they turn golden yellow, feel slightly soft, and emit a sweet fragrance.
How should I store ripe mangoes?
Once ripe, you can store mangoes at room temperature and consume them within 2-3 days for the best taste. To extend their life slightly, you can refrigerate ripe mangoes for a few extra days, but this may slightly alter the texture and flavour.
